Okay guys and gals, there's a new choice in rims for 29"ers out there from those Aussie guys at Velocity. Called the "Blunt", it's reported to be 480grams per rim, (mine were built when I got them). The width is supposed to be 28mm, (calipers showed 27.9...no big), and the internal bead to bead is pretty wide. Probably much like a Salsa Delgado Disc.

No eyelets, as is Velocity's wont, they usually go with a beefed up spoke bed in the extrusion instead. Rims are pinned and sleeved, and the joint was nearly invisible from the outside. The tires mounted up with no drama. No worse or better than alot of 29"er rims I have worked with.

Available in silver and black, although the pre-production sample at Interbike was powder coated baby blue, so I don't know yet if that will be a stock option. They do custom powdercoat any rim they make in any color they offer as an option.

Stickers come off if you aren't into that "racey" look, but I like it.

MSRP is to be $75.00 and should be available by springtime from any fine bike shop.

I'll be testing these on my Raleigh hardtail. More later!
