My single has verticles and right now I have a chain tensior on it. I have heard if you go with half links that you can get ride of chain tensenor? I worry chain stretch would be an issue. Any one deal with this before

The half-links will get you close but not perfect. I use a combination of a half link and I file just a LITTLE off of my axle to get the chain tension I want.

When the chain stretches, I rotate the axle back to the "round" edge. When it stretches more that that, I replace the chain.
