It appears there is an issue with the OS frying the DVI port on this monitor. It happened to mine, and another guy on the Ubuntu forums had two die in the same manner.

Plus I have seen a few other sites around the internet with others reporting similiar issues. I am gonna talk to Viewsonic and see what they will do, but I will probably wnd up returning it to Costco and getting a different monitor.
