Sex offender's body found burned and decapitated

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich - Daniel Gene-Vincent Sorensen's body was found Thursday morning by a sewer and water department crew at the end of a cul-de-sac 20 miles northwest of Detroit, according to The Detroit News.

Residents told police they saw a small fire near the spot where the body was found.

Michigan State Police identified Sorensen, 26, through a fingerprint from his burned hand.

Sorensen's head has not been found and a cause of death has not been released.

Sorensen's father told local TV station, WJBK-TV, that his son's criminal sexual conduct charge stemmed from a past relationship he had with an underage girl.

further googling reveals he was convicted of 4th deg sexual assault, which is a misdemeanor in most states (i.e., stat rape).

i'm all for a little street justice (not the twisted sister variety, thanks), but shouldn't they've started w/ the SVPs or straight up paedos?

on balance, these fellas sure were thorough & still got caught; makes me re-think my estimation of the perfect murder.
