SC website states a person 5'7'' can ride a small or medium frame, with 5'7'' being the shortest height recommended for a medium. I'm 5'71/2'' (5'8'' on a good day) and don't have particularly long arms, is a medium to big? My current downhill bike is a small. Thanks.

I'm 6 feet and I ride a medium with the marzocchi 70mm stem. But I like my play bikes on the small side. Try to ride each size before you buy.

Been my experience that SC's run a little big anyways. I'm 6'2" and fit my buddies MEDIUM VPFree perfectly.

Edit - Ooops on the size. BTW, I used to ride a Large Blur, and it always seemed a little stretched out for me.

It would probably be a little more informative if you posted what size your buddy's bike is.

I am 6'4" and ride a large. It is perfect in every way.

SC's small is 14", I rode my friends small v10 and it is kind of cramped and I'm 5'4. A 16 or 17" is more my size. I think you would want a med. But try them out.

Thanks for the info, will probably go with a small. Anyone know the weight of their bike with a dual crown fork? In the 40lbs range? Thanks.

Since you haven't specified which fork or any of the other parts, it's pretty hard to help you.

My free with a 888, basically a DH build, and 2.5 Intense DH tires is about 41 lbs. With a lighter build you can get under 40 no problem.

Was thinking Fox 40, as for the rest of the build, don't quite know yet, may use parts from my old bikes. Thanks again for the info. BTW, that Dave Barry quote is great.

Definitely go small, I am 5' 7" and rode a medium with a 60mm stem and it felt huge, way bigger than my 17" stinky dee lux.
