I need to know the needed front derailer type and size for Giant VTs as well as the BB size (spindle length) I need to get for ISIS and Shimano ES71. I really know nothing about either of these subjects so I hope someone can just tell me what to get.

If you have your bike, you can actually measure the BB size. Measure the width of the bottom bracket shell - it will be either 68mm or 73mm. The spindle length is 113 unless you run a chainguide or big tires in which case you might want to push it out to 118. This size will be the same for ISIS or Shimano BB's.
I don't know for a fact, but every Giant I've seen has a front mech size of 34.9mm.

Why don't you just walk down to the Alpine Shop and ask? Pete's riding a VT these days, or at least he was last time I ran into him.
