 A new low, even for them.

The Wal-Mart human-resources managers who run the meetings don't specifically tell attendees how to vote in November's election, but make it clear that voting for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama would be tantamount to inviting unions in, according to Wal-Mart employees who attended gatherings in Maryland, Missouri and other states.

Time to go to Target.
Target is just as bad as Wal-Mart is, just with a better ad campaign to not seem trashy

If you find any evidence showing that the facts and figures posted are lies, then feel free to post them. Just because something doesn't personally affect me, doesn't mean it shouldn't be an issue. Why were those abolitionists getting so worked up over a bit of slavery in the south? They weren't slaves so why was it an issue for them?

Doesn't that mean every Wal-Mart employee should vote for Obama?

me? i'm shoppin at Costco!

Atta boy

Costco chief executive Jim Sinegal, 68, is a Democrat who says Bush's $1.7 trillion in tax cuts unfairly benefit the wealthy. He opposed the Iraq war and supports Democratic Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts for president. And he's the only chief executive of a company in the Standard & Poor's 500 index to donate money to independent political groups formed to oust Bush, Internal Revenue Service records show.

The UAW can't help it if GM runs the company into the ground. Next your going to tell me the Teamsters are to blame for the rising shipping costs :disgust:

Many car companies like Peugeot and Volkswagen are doing very well while being unionized, because they aren't trying to shovel out SUVs and trucks during a rise in gas prices

I'm in a union, and I'm being groomed for management so I get to peek at both sides. You blame everything on the Union, but the reality is that GM has been poorly managed and the compensation the Union negotiated reflected that. I dislike my union, but that is another topic

What's so wrong with Target? Especially compared to Wal-Mart? Last I checked they gave more $$$ to charity than any other company of that size (5% of pretax profits).

Anti-union and anti-environmental activities, not as bad as Wal-Mart however. They do give a lot of money to charity though.

Uh....while the unions don't help, most of Ford/GM's problem is due to their actual product that they sell. They make a lower quality product, in an inefficient way with high overhead (ie: unions).

The unions are only part of the problem.

Bell Helicopter in Monreal is not a union shop BTW.....
