So, I really want to convert my new trek bruiser into a single speed. I will mainly be riding this bike in downtown LA and don't feel the ned to have gears. My first question is, can I do it to this bike? Second question, about how much will it cost to do it right. I don't wanna mickey mouse a setup.
Any info will be appreciated.

ya check jenson usa they sell a conversion kit for 20 bucks. ive also see many at local shops. there pretty simple to set up. good luck

so thats the tensioner, Looks well built. what about sprockets fro front and rear. I dont want the multi-sprocket cassetes or whtever they are called any more.

well if you want to do it right, get a SS rear hub and rebuild your wheel with no dish. Then get a freewheel... Find an online SS calculator and find your gear ratio...

Or.. buy an Eccentric White ind hub and choose whatever ratio you want. Ive got one for sale. PM me.
