I have a '99 Specialized FSR Elite that is cracked under the bottom bracket shell on a weld. I'm going to get the frame warrantied. Do you think that Specialized would have the same frame in stock? Or would I get a newer frame. Any input in general would be appreciated.

OK. Will they give a similar frame or will I get to choose what I want within a price range?

When I broke my FSR comp they gave me a new FSR enduro... so it was a similar frame. Specialized is really cool with the warranties, I wasn't the original owner of the frame and they still warrantied it.

Wasn't that whole bike like $800. That frame can't be worth more very much after five years and three owners. Specialized is really going to warranty it? Or did they mention crash replacement? Good for you if they do give you a frame, take anything they will give you. :thumb:

And it was a manufacturing defect at a weld, not crash damage. It was a really nice bike.

Well, I'm waiting to get a hold of my local Specialized rep. I'm also waiting for my dad to talk on the phone to the company. Being 13 makes it so that companies generally try to rip me off. He's better at talking anyway. I'll probably say something I don't want to. Since he's working for a school's summer program, he gets off on Friday for a month. He'll talk to Specialized then. Being 13, I couldn't wait and I wanted to ask people what they thought I would get. I'll post when I get some "action." (That could take a while).
