Listening to Gov Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson, she stated that her interpretation of the the Bush doctrine was that we, the US, have the right defend against and perform preemptive strikes against, Islamic or other religious extremists that mean us harm or disagree with our country's values and standards. (not exact quotes)
If that's the case, then couldn't one make the case for waging war against radical Baptist? Or those sects of religions that refuse to submit to medical care for their children, when our country's values clearly support protecting children. What about those Amish that flaunt our commerce and energy systems?
She also couldn't answer with an intelligent response, the question posed by Gibson concerning whether we have the right to launch strikes into Pakistan from Afghanistan. She spoke about 100 words without answer other than to say basically we "have to do whatever it takes to catch Islamic extremist"
Hint, right answer is no, unless we have a SOFA with Pakistan to establish reciprocal jurisdiction.
