Do up all the velcro, and if you have the mesh bag that they came in chuck them in there so you can throw gloves jerseys etc. in as well without worrying about velcro ruining your stuff.

i just throw mine in the washer and hang dry.

I put mine in sink full of water and woolite, hang dry-but thats just me.
