I've been trying to figure out how to watch the championship this weekend, and was actually joining some discussion boards to find out how. BUT I got lucky and stumbled across www.mediazone.com/mountainbike. For 7.99 you can get a pass to watch both Saturday and Sunday live. My cable company isn't providing it, so it's worth the money to me to watch.
