Just hooked up one of these:

    http://www.multipureco.com/750sb.htm

I was skeptical at first but my wife has a friend that swears by them.

Kinda spendy, but warrantied for 25 years.

Holy FVCK what a difference. Our tap water used to taste like old swimming pool water. Now it's better than bottled water.

Does it filter out all the prescription drug residue that our water supply now seems to have?

I was calling H8R a sissy but if you are scared of a little estrogen.... you're a sissy also.

I think that could be a valid explaination of the pussification of America. Exactly why I will only drink my own distilled urine.

I need a whole house filter or something. Our water leaves mineral deposits all the time.

You have a well? I had the same problem, I would drain the tub and there would be little stones in there. I had a filter put around my pump in the well. It has worked out great.

We're currently looking into a similar system that filters all incoming water into the house. Cost is about the same but we haven't pulled the trigger yet...D
