We did this ride last Sunday and it was pretty nice. The first 7 miles are pretty lame, just a wide service road with lots of barneys and sport comfort bikes. But it was a pretty good warm up. As soon as you pass the dam, you start climbing a little more and then you make a left hand turn, climb a little bit and you're in the woods at the start of the Colorado trail. It's not too technical but your in the woods the entire time which is pretty cool. We only encountered 2 rock sections that were hard to climb, the first one was tough because it was loose and steep and the second was just huge rocks that were impossible to get over. The second rock garden was on a section of trail where dirt bikes are allowed, it was impossible to climb but we found it pretty easy to clear on our way down. We rode out for about 2 1/2hours and decided to turn back when the trail started to descend because we didn't want to climb back out anymore than we already had to. I guess the entire section of trail is about 30 - 40 miles and takes about 4 - 6 hours to do and when you finally get off the Waterton service road trail you don't encounter too many other people.

The colors were amazing and it was nice to ride with leaves on the ground.
