just checked out junior girls seeding, no tracey hannah, she's pobably too young to enter yet ?

I see there are twin french girls in 2nd and 3rd, now there's a marketing opportunity if there ever was one.

I think Peaty just thinks that the mind games and bagging qualifiers is just not the thing to do. He's there to race, and that's what he's going to do.

From the little I know him, I don't think it's in in character to bag qualifiers; he goes all out. Good for him!

Check out the ol'skewl Giant with some upgrades piloted by Ben Reid.
ben's a nutter. he prefers the ATX over the DH Team frames. looks like a ti spring on that RS too. and check out the ghetto chain device.

funny, I was also thinking tomac when I read that but didn't bother replying.....91 eh ? when he won xc and silver in dh no ?
yep you and vitox got it right.

albet iten was the size of a track racer! that is what you needed on that track. it had a flat muddy section near the bottom that zapped most riders.

that is as close as a double world champ winner as there will ever be!

from stick:

I do not have results, just going by memory but it was an expected crappy day for USA DHers, only one male rider beat Anne Caros time, David K did a 3:00, and ACC did a 3:04, the rest of the americans sucked, Judd in 99th, dont know where Van Dine was at and Colin did not start, he has a broken wrist from durango.

why did we send colin over there if he has a broken wrist and david K finished 17th in the ncs overall. sounds like whoever has sponsors money to get them over there get on teh team.

why didn't cody warren go to world? to fill his place.

that guy is a pinner! i was watching the shicane race run at durango, the one after hte 3rd drop. the inside pole was down and he jumped over the layed down fence from the berm stepping half way down!

judd is fast too, but how is he there? havukainen, housman and keene, they are would be a better rep for a decent usa finish.

amen to that, actually, IMHO thats why tomac should be remembered more than anything else, for his all round mountain biker ability

i cant see any possible way in which anyone will come a couple of hundredths of a second from winning both the dh and xc ever again (cant remember how much iten beat tomac y but it was veeery little)

Havukainen is there racing for Australia, and Im assuming Keene, and Houseman couldnt go due to money issues or work or something.

iten was in south africa many years ago for a big road race, which had a prize for the first rider home on a mtb, he won by a long shot, racing with some top local pro riders on his hardtail.

Only #1 in each category I believe. Same as Canada.

Of course, they do pay for the roadies who go, I am told. Second hand information on that tho, so I am not sure if it is true.

edit: aye taipe gud

Nope not for a non olympic event
Even in an Olympic event, it is not doing any good.
I just checked the results for the under 23 XC race at Worlds, and the best place US finisher was like 40th.
Then I checked the the juniors mens XC results and it was even worse.
I also read where one of our best female junior racers at worlds has only been on a bike for this season alone.
Weakness.
At least on the gravity side, we have a chance at doing decent,
especially in women's DH, junior men, and all 4X.

my hi-use
The only guys that get paid for are teh Quailifying junior's, so that is Anderson, Zink, Riffle, O'D, and I believe Strobel cause they won races this year. For Keene and Houseman I don't believe they Qualified but I don't know why Houseman didn't Quailify for 4X cause he made a bunch of mains and won at sonoma this year,?

Espen Jonsen @ 67 place is the fastest guy in Norway. He's riding so fast at the Norwegian nationals. The fastest guys down there now are plain sick. INSANE speeds!
