22k new cases per day, higher than any other nation, 4th or so by capita, and we're 'opening up'

Good luck everyone. I'll be in the woods. I'll check back in in October with cooler temperatures, my locked front door and a shotgun aimed at it.

Local news just showed a spinning gym place that's about to open. It will be okay though as they've moved the spin bikes 6ft from each other...

Thats what I meant a few posts back by focussing on the wrong measures.
The 6ft means nothing if they dont have proper ventilation.

What they should be doing is opening all the doors and windows.

That said, it sounds like a really bad id all together.
I dont understand why someone would take that risk for something like a spinning class.
A sneeze can easily travel like 24ft across a room and stay there for hours.
Heavy breathing is gonna fill the place up with droplets fast and everyone will be taking nice deep breaths to get the virus deep down into their lungs where it will do the most damage.

^^ he was just staring at an apple and realized he had no way to calculate the volume effectively.

I mean like for weeks he was staring at that apple.

So fuck my life. Remember the 'early dayz' when resort towns were hot spots?

Here we go again. Our local hospital hadn't had a positive covid test since the end of april. Memorial day weekend.....two new ones. Obviously not residents since we'd reached a baseline. Fuck americans. Fuck them so fucking hard.

31 people in my town of 20k have died of covid.
All but one, my 91yo across street neighbor, were in assisted living.

I believe the purpose of the now defunct pandemic response team was to identity the trends and alert the CDC. It had field offices in China. Expecting a foreign country to do this for us is crazy, especially one whose relationship could be best considered 'its complicated'. Either way we completely ignored all the warnings we received anyway.

Sounds like hospitals are making up for lost time. Although this is largely going to be covered, patients getting treatment for other conditions are getting ass raped.

A misleading article title is so nice you had to post it twice?
Yeah that's it.

You want to talk about the twisted provider/insurance relationship that generates these kinds of numbers in the face of a gov't that said they'd be covered or just spew assumptions?

I posted in the other thread for exactly the reason I stated "for the canadians" because they don't usually post here, and unlike americans, they actually get the joke when it comes to healthcare in the US. I posted it here first and then tried to entertain canadians because I want one to adopt me.

This is likely to become a clusterfuck. Because everything medical in the country ends up that way. Just because you understand what an explanation of benefits is doesn't change that. I've had specialist's bills magically get sent to mystery addresses that I never lived at and never would have listed, that then go on to screw up my credit. This will not be tidy.

I've had all kinds of mysterious and surprise expensive things done to me that cost lots of money while I was unconscious. At least that's what the bills told me.

I got a nice $8k visit I wasn't conscious for yet no one bothered to provide basic first aid. I got home and had to pull bits of tree out of my face.

I have no idea where I am
Rabies shots are spendy as well. I think the total bill was around $8K and the pharmacy charge alone was $5-6K. One trip to the ER and multiple follow up shots.

If you wanna befriend feral cats that's your choice. I however will not do that again.
