I went up to Whistler about 2 weeks ago for a couple days. Garbanzo was so sloppy but so fun. I rode 4 or 5 runs down No Joke. This had quite a toll on my bike; the cable housing was all screwed up from the mud and would barely shift and my bottom bracket is feeling pretty crappy now. I ride a Demo 9 was it has a full length cable housing and the BB was a Truvativ Ti (not really for DH). So my question is what is a good way to prevent this/what components hold up better? Is there anything else that gets worn really fast in the mud and what would you do to fix it?

There's not a lot that can help when your riding, but maintenance before and after are the key. Make sure you've got everything lubed before you ride, and get all the mud off and dried as soon as you get home after the ride, chain especially. I guess some people make rear fenders to block mud from caking in your rear shock, which can be a pain to clean otherwise.
