Where is everybody today?

Really getting the speed back on the road bike. 27 miles in 1.13:55 with average of 21.9 mph. This is the same as my best time last year which was at the end of May too. Hopefully I can do even better. Last year I took a good fall in early July which really put me back. Its also paying off on the mountain bike and making it more fun to ride.

Mornin!

After two weeks off the bike I got my ass handed to me last night. Gonna have to work on that, back of the pack is not a fun place to be.

When I got back from my big crash last year I had the worst experience on my mountain bike getting totally ridden off the back. Didn't help I ended up doing a ride with some hardcore XC guys.

Morning Monkeys.

Had flats on both the big bike and the jump bike. I patched them for now, will get tubes next week. Riding to the gym tonight with the lady before my joyous road trip tomorrow. Got to hang with the grandbaby for a bit yesterday, that was very cool. He's a ginger, but my son swears he has a soul.

There are few things in this world that make me feel older than holding my grandchild. Still enjoy it, though.

Howdy all. I rode the 29er in, knobby tires buzzing along. I passed two people by my count and was probably passed by 20 (most on roadies, one on an e-bike zipping along). :D I'm ok with that, though. Got to work in time.

I get all of next week off!!!!!!

Without pay. :twitch:
my leave is without pay too, though it'll be averaged over the course of an entire year. So I'll still be getting paychecks, just with a quarter of the usual amount lopped off. It'll be a year of belt-tightening, but getting to spend that much time with my boys is priceless.

'squeeb, I hope it's not an unplanned, unforeseen situation... and that you get to make the most of it.

i'm guessing this is related to your paperwork snafu?
Yes.

Consider it done. Bike plans are already made, a beer run commences as soon as I eat lunch, and computer games are running in the background. The only part that bugs is the "idiot tax" deduction on my paycheck, but that's what the emergency fund is for.

good stuff, early morning shift, wife away on business, build a project the way I want to do it.

Need to have the kayak out of the sun and heat. Wife was not going to go for me storing it in the living room along with my Mt bike... So I took some spare 2x4s, some 3.5" torx deck screws, one skill saw, one cordless drill, a level and some duct tape. two beers later and the kayak is safely up and out of the way in the garage.

In the cleavage of the Tetons
Got a periodontal implant today.
Had to drive 2 hours each way.
Drilled into the bone, and a metal rod installed, to which a threaded aluminum temporary insert was installed.
1/2 hour procedure, $1500 bucks.
Painful drive home!
Now on painkillers.
