Here. Gymnastics and an orchestra concert tonight. Otherwise, work.

Still trying to figure out the trailer solution for Haley's new kart. I can keep the kart at the track through the eom, but at that point I need to take it home. Once they build a storage facility, I will likely just end up storing it there, but that's 8mos away. What I need is a 5x8 trailer, but I can't store one that doesn't fold in my garage. Reasonable thought would be to just say 'fuck it', sell the All-road then buy a truck for a wash, but Wifey isn't comfortable with something that big as the "back-up" car. Ironically, she's fine with me just going out to buy a beater truck... Wifey logic hurts my head sometimes.

My Harbor Freight trailer has been a champ. It doesn't take up a ton of room when folded and isn't terrible to maneuver. There is a 1200# and 1700#, mine is the lighter one and it had 2 quads no issue.

Kart is 57" wide. If push comes to shove and I have to partially disassemble it, I will. But I'm hoping to have a quick to leave and drive option available so that we can jump in the car right after school. Having to take things apart, assemble the trailer, connect it, reassemble at the track, etc. will burn an extra 30min when the goal is to be on-track.

Can you flip the rear wheels around or will that not work? I believe saw people do that “back when”.

I actually built extensions on mine to widen it 6" on each side so I could put the wife's quad sideways. I had a picture somewhere. It was stupid easy. Still within the fender width

You can kind of see them. Plywood with a 2x4 stub and cross piece that goes into the pocket and has an L bracket for stability.

oh, almost forgot,

Bought climbing gear yesterday since a handful of the trees left standing have some pretty bad widowmakers.

The new gear is a massive leap ahead of the old tech I used in the day.

Buckingham spurs
Weaver pads
limb over lanyards with petzl hardware
multiposition seated hybrid harness
saw hook and lanyard

I think the last time I was climbing had to have been for a day when I was in fairly good shape after race across america and I still was wrecked after a couple hours. def wont need a gym membership this year.

I need a bike ride. @jstuhlman are there open trails in CLT?
hey-most everything here is open. the most "mountainy" feeling system also happens to be closest to you, Poston Park in Lowell. Just one or two more clusters of trees to clear but it's totally rideable. Whitewater center should be open too, which is also on the west side of town. All local trail status here: https://tarheeltrailblazers.com/trail-status-mobile/

Depending on where you are, the trails at Hickory are decent and could also be an option.
