I just finished reading Mark's Weir interview on NSMB and to be honest, i've been riding bikes my hole life, and i can't remember any piece of written material that made me want to ride my bike like i'm about to do, this guy seems to be the closest thing to a hero for me (outside my family). I've seen vids of his pump track madness on leelikesbikes, and its very kewl.

I hope you'll find this article as interesting as i did.

He was very cool when Wumpus and I volunteered at the first Norba marathon in Valley Mills. The pros lost the pace bike and missed a turn. Lots of miles later, they asked us for directions. He led the conversation and was very grateful while many were just pissed. Seems like a cool guy, but not so fast compared to some of the other rockets. I was the only person cheering for him in the XC race. I like him and Boots.

Cool cat for sure. The million feet thing is ridiculous. And his winning time at Downieville just doesn't make any sense.
Did you watch the pump track video? He could probably have won downieville on pumps alone. Jeezus he is fast.

Yeah... Mark is a cool guy.
I used to live up in the Bay area, so I would see him around a bunch.
Before I met him, I always had the impression (or misconception) that he was another stuck-up pro. After talking to him a few times, that is FART from the fact. He and Marla are two of the most down to earth people you will meet.
