Jeeze, fair enough to remove her from the crowd once she'd made her noise, but how is this an offence? "harassing a foreign official" - She didn't hurt him, she didn't even try to get near him, she just let her political opinion be known in a public space. It's lame that that is a crime.

The retard-in-question, a doctor with a legitmate press pass, started yelling at the foto op. No one was allowed to ask Hu questions.

Frankly, considering the limited access we have with our leaders, I definitely support guerilla protests.

This "doctor" has been known for this kind of behavior in the past, as I understand it. Are you saying that "guerilla protesting" should have no penalty? Should I be able to say, run on stage during the oscars or in the middle of the field during the superbowl and be free from and kind of legal penalty, so long as its political in nature? That's genius.

anyway, sure, this lady should have been removed, but 5 years possible jail time? that's absolutely ridiculous.

Well, I dont actually watch the oscars, but I cited those two specifically because they've both been interrupted by "guerilla protests" in the past.
Considering the importance of a meeting between the two most powerful people on the planet, this lady's lost 5 doesnt bother me a bit.

I dont know if it works the same everywhere, but a "5 year sentence" means about 1.5 years in the states. Probably less for a crime of this nature.

Possibly a night in the cells for being a pain in the arse but anything more is ridiculous.
I'd be interested to know whether anyone has done time for this offence. I'd doubt it. She's had her 15 minutes, leave it at that.

Both of those events are "private" events. A political meeting of your countries leaders and potential trading partners should be anything BUT private.

How convenient of them to invite him to their country, and then attempt to sweep it all under the rug and just ignore it.

I still think it's funny that Hu didn't know how to react when she started yelling.

what a dillhole.
To be fair, as a politician from China, on a state visit wanting to embarrass neither yourself, your country, or your host, what can you do? Not a lot. He was probably suprised the SS took so long to deal with her.
