I gave my resignation, but can't talk about it with co-workers for a few days.

My boss said, "oh goodie, that's just great news today".

I do feel bad, but I am going to manage two local bike shops, so I am super excited. I also will get to hang with my little girl for a couple of hours each morning.

The really good news is I am going to San Diego on the 24th of this month. I may also still be heading to CT this coming weekend.

What a relief to have it done.

Sounds like you're making a change for the better, congrats. What are you going to San Diego for?

Hangin' with my best friend that moved there and riding. I am super excited about meeting quite a few folks. I am even hopeful that I get to go to CT next week, for purely selfish reasons.

I am excited.

BS - send your address again so I can send the pic to you. I'll do it tomorrow if you'll send it to me.

*and with that, I am a monkey. :) This new gig will keep me Internet quiet though.

The best part about the announcement from my boss is that the shops "specialize in racing". I have never used the word race in a conversation with him. I honestly can't imagine why he would need to "fluff" anything relative to me going to pursue a career in an industry I am passionate about.

It does reaffirm the thought that I am doing the right thing.

Two days and a few hours. I can't wait. In normal fashion, they won't let me have a project finished, but I am resolved to the fact that I won't let that bring me down. I should take a sick day tomorrow and work half a day on Friday. I am so tired of a lack of organization.

Additionally having resigned in the last 3 weeks are as follows -

VP of Sales
VP of Information Services
Shipping Manager
AP Clerk

In the last 6 months -
VP of Manufacturing
Director of Engineering
Director of Fixed Seating

The up side is, less than 1 week and I will be in Cali.

I'm goin' back to Cali, to Cali...

Should I be selling my stock in the school furniture industry?
Fortunately this company is not publicly held, so you will be ok.

I would also venture to think since Virco has reported losses of great magnitude for several quarters, I wouldn't buy them either.

I am just really glad to go sell bikes instead of chairs.

It deserves its own thread, but I won't start one. I just heard the funniest thing in a while.

My company president sent an email to a Mexican company that makes our auditorium chairs boasting about how sales are double this year from last. They responded that they just had a meeting about how we are up this year, but only 16.27%. He went on to thank us for the kind words, but have grave concerns about the drop in sales in the last 30 - 45 days. He suggested we consult our reports and compare them to the attached report that, indeed, shows the bad news. :D

I love people that need to boost their own egos, but have no idea what is going on in the business. We certainly would have suggested not sending the email, had he asked.
