So, I'm a lazy college student. The first class I have is at 11:00 everyday. I never find time to ride. So here we are, at 7:30am, and i'm setting out for a ride. This is my new initiative. Lets see how long it lasts........

Good luck with it. I've been in similar situations - lazy, not enough time for riding/working out, so I get up early. I have a hard time staying with it past the 6 month mark.

I was making breakfast :)

Plus, I have to get up at 7, dont have class till 11. My goal is only 10 miles in the morning, for now. I dont need three hours to ride 10 miles :)

Mornings are cold :dead:

This morning, the talking heads said Richmond got all the way down to 34*

Hey, it was 30* here, thats a whole 4 degrees colder!

You must understand, I have no cool weather riding clothes. Plus, I'm on a beta-blocker for migraine prevention wich causes cold extremities.

OK, enough excuses, it wasn't really THAT cold... I just wasnt prepared for it.

It is about what you are used to. When I lived in northern NY anything over 40 was warm, shorts weather, anything over 80 and I ran the risk of heat stroke. Now living in Virginia I won't even think twice about going for a ride when it is 98 degrees and 30 feels cold I tell ya.

I hate when people choose to live in a freezer and then judge people that didn't choose to live in the same freezer because they say it's cold. I have seen 20 in Iowa and 20 in Texas, and 20 in Texas was colder. Whatever, hope you had a nice ride BigMike. You riding from home, or driving to a trail? Actually getting to trails is the time killer for me.

I know its just gonna get colder, I just gotta go spend some money on some good gloves, and a nice underarmour polar shirt :)

And Loco, I'm really lucky, I have 10+ miles of trail within 2 miles of my house. There are also some really good road rides for training and the such :thumb:

well, It felt great to get up and not waste my day, went on a nice ride, took a nice long shower, felt nice and awake...... or so I thought. I proceeded to fall asleep in my 11:00 class. Maybe I should rethink this.....

Thats cold dude. It frosted for the first time last night and I almost cried.
i am not crying about the frost. it kills the poison ivy and makes trail building so much more pleasurable.

HA! I wouldn't even consider riding before class. In fact, I am not sure I have ever ridden before I had class. Just doesn't feel right.
