Announcing the new Indie Mountain Bike Series!!

(December 23, 2004) Tired of boring mountain bike races? Tired of
traveling long distances to race? Tired of exorbitant race fees? If so,
the new Indie Mountain Bike Series has something for you!

Independent Races + Independent Race Promoters = Great Racing with
Individual Flair

The Indie Mountain Bike Series has brought together some of Washington
state's top race promoters to host what will prove to be a stellar point
series for mountain bike racers in our region. The idea of linking
individual race promoters to form a series has been brewing for a few
years and with much enthusiasm, the Indie series is making its debut in
2005. The goal: to provide a quality points series while each promoter
and venue retains it's own individual character, bringing for more fun
and great racing to each event. With over 50 years of combined race
promoting experience, there is no doubt that the INDIE SERIES will spice
up northwest mountain bike racing.

The INDIE SERIES will consist of six races. Points will be based on the
best five out of six races and overall series winners will be crowned
and awarded at the final race of the series at Greenwater. The added
bonus: because each race is hosted by individual race promoters,
cash and prizes will awarded after each race for those winners. The
INDIE SERIES will most definitely offer more bang for the buck!

The schedule includes some great races that have a proven history of
top-notch events and a few new ones as well.

Event Schedule:
February 27th - Valentine's Challenge
April 24th - SeaTac Shuffle
May 15th - Whidbey Island Mudder
June 4th - Leavenworth Bike & Brew Fest
July 10th - 13th Annual Padden Mountain Pedal
July 31st - Greenwater Gamble

Sounds like fun!

Cheers!

Sounds fun! I'll be there! BTW, what's the Leavenworth race going to be like?
The Leavenworth race is a gas, although you better be ready to do some climbing. Leavenworth you do either one, two or three loops around Freund Canyon depending on your skill level. Each lap has about a 1400 foot climb over four miles and then 4.6 miles down hill for a total of 8.6. Its pretty smooth and a fast course even with the climb. If you are really strong you should be able to do the whole course without getting off the bike.

Only thing that sucks is that it's scheduled the same day as the annual MS Mountain Bike Ride in Fall City. So, it's one or the other.
Wish it could be on seperate days. But, that's what they've planned.
