So like many people I have lived with sub-par inkjet printers most of my life. They are cheap and work ok, but not great and text has never been great. My last printer was an Epson Stylus C88. It was supposed to be teh awesome in home printing.

Well, in less than a year, it started jamming, smearing, and just overall sucking. So I decided to get something better. I went to Office Depot and they had the Brother HL2170W laser for $150 with a $50 rebate.

Not only does it have built in wireless, but it's fast. A home use laser printer for $100 that's wireless is the deal. Man, I haven't been this happy with a printer ever.

Good printer, but you'll never have to worry about replacing the drum. It'll stop picking up paper first. At that price though, you just toss it...the whole printer costs less than an HP drum does.

How does it get power if it's wireless? Batteries?

fwiw i'm quite happy with my hp laserjet 1012. cheap, small, and has been reliable. laser printers >> inkjets for text.
