Last hour. :(
you didn't know.....

Dear Constant Readers,

At some point, while worrying over the copyedited manuscript of the next book (11/22/63, out November 8th), I started thinking—and dreaming—about Mid-World again. The major story of Roland and his ka-tet was told, but I realized there was at least one hole in the narrative progression: what happened to Roland, Jake, Eddie, Susannah, and Oy between the time they leave the Emerald City (the end of Wizard and Glass) and the time we pick them up again, on the outskirts of Calla Bryn Sturgis (the beginning of Wolves of the Calla)?

There was a storm, I decided. One of sudden and vicious intensity. The kind to which billy-bumblers like Oy are particularly susceptible. Little by little, a story began to take shape. I saw a line of riders, one of them Roland’s old mate, Jamie DeCurry, emerging from clouds of alkali dust thrown by a high wind. I saw a severed head on a fencepost. I saw a swamp full of dangers and terrors. I saw just enough to want to see the rest. Long story short, I went back to visit an-tet with my friends for awhile. The result is a novel called The Wind Through the Keyhole. It’s finished, and I expect it will be published next year.

It won’t tell you much that’s new about Roland and his friends, but there’s a lot none of us knew about Mid-World, both past and present. The novel is shorter than DT 2-7, but quite a bit longer than the first volume—call this one DT-4.5. It’s not going to change anybody’s life, but God, I had fun.

Crabjoe, the new Shikari album is such a step up for them, so good.

Check out Attack Attack!'s new one, it destroys their previous stuff imo.

As for me, I'm still listening to Dead Throne non-stop.

How is that an accomplishment? The sound of dried rat turds pouring out of a paper cup onto wet pavement destroys their previous stuff.

Hilarious Anchorman-inspired video for an awesome song by a bunch of knuckleheads:

New solo song uploaded this morning by Evan of Vanna:

Pretty much alternating between these two all morning.

that song can remove all testosterone from anyone exposed to it for longer than 24 seconds.

hockey pucks in the ear lobes is also a known side effect.
Right, cause God knows all that hipster, underground indie crap you listen to is macho as hell. :p

I present to you exhibit A. A man with a vest, UK flag patch, red beret and sunglasses. Super manly:

i have a lot of targets, but picking on the band who released the very first punk rock single shows a pretty gaping hole in yr knowledge.

plus, you missed an opportunity to try to make fun of the Captain's velvet schoolboy outfit (and yes, they definitely have a sense of humo(u)r, unlike post-emo boy).

Actually, Evan and the rest of the guys in Vanna are friends of mine and are some of the most laid back, goofy guys you would ever meet. Guess we both have gaping holes in our knowledge....rivaled only by the gaping holes in Evan's ears...which to you is clearly just as important as the music itself.

So keep up the typical arrogance and elitist attitude you have when it comes to music and the people that create it. You'd think a guy with such a supposedly deep passion and appreciation for all things music would be a bit more open and accepting of all artists. Do the tattoos and gauged ears negate all the emotion and thought put into the lyrics and music of his songs? If Sonic Youth, the Melvins or Dinosaur Jr. came out with the same exact song, would your opinion change? I'm guessing so. Quit being such a fvcking hypocrite......listen to the music or don't listen to it, like the music or don't like it. But if you're going to spend the time and effort, no matter how little it may be, to comment on a particular song, at least provide a bit of support or criticism outside of a typical 14 year old YouTube response.

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes your attitude gets under my skin.....maybe because of the complete lack of respect for a friend of mine doing what he loves.

All this horrible screamo crabcore attack attack nonsense has me in the mood for real metal.
Who's to say I don't listen to this stuff as well? ;)
All I said was that their new stuff is a lot better, with Caleb Shomo as lead.

Structure's newest album Divided By has also been on my playlist for recents. If that helps my name for music taste :P
