one thing about covid and the internet.... i'm going down a rabbit hole and discovering a bunch of excellent bands i've missed over the years, rediscovering live shows of long favorite bands, and just generally listening to more music i haven't heard before
With working from home I listen to music all day long when I'm not on calls. Been rediscovering a lot of bands I haven't listened to in years and sometimes albums that I never bought but can listen to online now with Amazon music unlimited.

I can't believe all of that, but what I really can't believe is that people like Ozzy and Mick Jagger are still alive.

Just went down a short Delores O’Riordan/Cranberries YouTube wormhole. I wasn’t ever a super-fan or anything. She was great. Highly recommended.
Always fucking loved the cranberries. Grew up listening to it as my mom always did, so likely mostly a sentimental thing for me.

Been listening to the latest Aesop Rock album that was released this week. Focus seems to be predominantly on music/production on this one, at least from initial few listens. Nothing has jumped out at me as a lyrical masterpiece that grabbed me like the last couple albums (Blood Sandwich from Impossible Kid, Cycles to Gehenna/Ruby '81 from Skelethon). Nonetheless like every Aes record, the more you listen, the more you get.

Curious what your initial thoughts are @jonKranked ....I know you're a fan.

been listening to dat...
faves so far: button masher, gauze, coveralls, and holy waterfall. i tend to gravitate towards his more energetic stuff rather than the more atmospheric tracks.

listened through 3 times now, definitely enjoy it. i'd agree that there's nothing that's a standout masterpiece, however i'd also say it's a better overall album as a whole than impossible kid. and yea, also agree on better production / music. i think his work with Tobacco on Malibu Ken was a big influence in that regards.

A mix of Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem, Clutch, and The Pack A.D. today.

Chick Corea has a fantastic live recorded new album. On tap for my insomnia later.
