I have been looking at the Dartmmor Two6Player and NS Metropolis 3 Bike Any other suggestions for roughly $1000?

While you did mention a couple of dirt jump bikes, and a price range, your lack of detail and preferences will get you answers like the ones above...

those are both well-done bikes.
as for other suggestions . . . blackmarket soldier, specialized p series, giant stp, rocky mountain flow dj, haro steel reserve series, atomlab trail king and trail pimp, eastern night train/thunderbird/maddog . . . .
