i broke one from my old bike three times, then i got a new chain, dont know which one it was though(shimano) that one snapped twice. what kind of chain should i get for an 8 spd xt cassette? and should it be sram or shimano?

SRAM PC-98 if you can find it. If not get a PC-68.

SRAM chains are much more durable than shimano in my experience.

i don't bother w/ shimano chains, they shift a littleeeeeeeeee bit better from what i've heard but they break to easily. i've just ridden sram stuff, only broken one in 4 years and that one needed to be replaced badllllllly. i just got some wipperman chains and i'm going to see how those hold up.
