Iam currently deciding on which bike to buy. I do alot of racing, well mainly racing and want something like a gt dhi, a stab primo or a santa cruz v10. Iam not sure whether forking out the extra money for a v10 would be really worth it. Can you help ?

can you search?

Seriously, you will find a wealth of information about these bikes if you search for them using thre button at the top of the screen. And next time, adding information like you age, categroy, riding style, weight, height etc may help people give you advice.

No. I can't really help you. All those bikes are great and ride well. Get one and you will be fine. The Stab is not as bad as people make it seem. Barel seems fast enough on one.

no they arent that bad but if you are gonna be doing a lot of racing you should get a more race oriented bike.

As far as the Stab...I actually OWNED one and raced it....the entire bike with Avalanche rear and Shiver front was under 43lbs...so don't believe the hype about the weight. I was able to get it close to under 40lbs. with a fox rear and Super t front.....but it does have a good amount of braking feedback...a floater would take care of it no problem. I would look for a used one and just buy the floater from Brake therapy...you could save quite a bit of money...D

The new stabs have a floater so you wont have any brake jack.
just realize though that a floater doesnt always fix the prob completely just be prepared to still have some brake feedback if you go with the stab. or you could just buy a frame that you dont have to worry about it and you would be good (aka the V10)

i have and i personally did not like the stab it felt to high off the ground. wether it is actually a higher bottom bracket than the v-10 im not sure but it feels higher.

:stupid:

That's also because the original V-10s were designed around 4 inches of sag, which is way more than the Stab.
