The Melbourne man who smuggled the shots out of Beirut and did not wish to be named said he was less than 400m from the block when it was obliterated.

"Hezbollah came in to launch their rockets, then within minutes the area was blasted by Israeli jets," he said.

"Until the Hezbollah fighters arrived, it had not been touched by the Israelis. Then it was totally devastated.

"It was carnage. Two innocent people died in that incident, but it was so lucky it was not more."

The release of the images comes as Hezbollah faces criticism for allegedly using innocent civilians as "human shields".

Mr Egeland blasted Hezbollah as "cowards" for operating among civilians.

"When I was in Lebanon, in the Hezbollah heartland, I said Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending in among women and children," he said.

Tough call N8 but think about this.
If Isreal has the capacity to identify an urban area for rocket activity(staging a launch) and then takeit out, why not take pictures of these guys doing this and share them with the world to help yout image?

Sure the Hezbollah are doing it but why not use the media to your advantage.

Because Israel isn't psychic?

You're talking about knowing where and when in advance a rocket will launch. At that point, you, ya know, just kill the terrorist before they launch.

Otherwise they're just flowing the trajectory of the missle back to it's origin to know what area to flatten.

No , no fellas's.
Of course hezbollah IS firing rockets from said area.
What i'm saying is that based on the statement from the guy in N8's article that Israel didn't bomb the area until Hezbollah set up a position to fire.
This infers all kinds of aerial and satellite type surveilance by Israel.

With all the bad PR spin Israel is getting with civilian deaths it would just seem like they would want to show the world whats what.
Kind of exposing Hezbollah in a way .
Show the media the goods and to shut the naysayers up .
