Meh...Monkeys come and Monkeys go. We are all semi permanent...ready to be replaced by the next pooh flinger.
Once a monkey always a monkey. It sucks you back in when you least expect it. It's not "meh" when it's a group of people who will mourn your death.

Also, I hope BS got married had a kid and settled down into a very normal, very suburban, very boring life. (I couldn't stand the dude.)

Hey man, I call it like I see it. Never liked the dudes internet persona, I am not going to pretend like he pooped glitter and pissed Kool Ade because he stopped posting here. Neither will I look down upon those whos opinion differs from mine. You like the guy? Good on you. I didn't. Simple.

And like I mourning someones death really means anything to that person. Be real. He/she/it is dead. D. E. A. D.

Celebrate their life and be happy that they had it, hope they had a good one. Mourning is, imho, a waste of time and energy that is better spent.

I miss Burly and his gold comments like this:

"Hey, even though I agree with you, it'd probably be best if you didn't interject your comments while men are talking."

I always liked that he dissed singlespeeds for so many years but ended up riding one.

An enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a flatulent tortilla wrapped in a surplus poncho liner, that Burley. Never knew what you'd get. He did manage to compress evolution into an observable timeframe, though.

Agreed, he was one of our most interesting case studies. I suspect he is smart enough to realize he can't compete with his former self. We're not likely to hear from him again unless he gets divorced or beats substance abuse.

moved to arizona to be a border patrol guy. probably now in cahoots with the bundy clan or some other white supremacist militia type deal.
That is not fair. Manimal wasn't a white supremacist. He just had a tremendous amount of pride in being straight, white, male, christian, ignorant, selective enforcing anti-socialist government employee.

I wonder if his kid still rides...
Yep, he still post pics of them jumping all over Arizona on the book face.
As far as Manimal goes, I knew him in person before I knew the electronic version.
In person riding bikes and racing with him, he is about impossible to dislike. Fun dude to hang out with
and give and take shit with. But electronics...that changes a man....it takes away all he is and all he is
ever gonna be. (bonus points for working in a Clint Eastwood quote.)

I liked BS for the most part and Manimal seemed like an ok guy once you got past the portrait painted by Westy (that is pretty dead accurate).

Agreed in both counts. Definitely seemed like a nice dude until you were talking politics.

Yeah, the few times I talked to him, he was cool. He actually offered to take me a on a ride-along when he was po-po. Not sure if that meant in a cruiser or on mountain bikes. Either way that could have been entertaining.
