Well my second trip downhilling may have just converted me completely. I'm getting ready to sell the first full suspension bike I've owned to get my second one, and I'm considering selling my motocross bike to fund a car and a new mtb. I feel sad, I feel hopeful. I'm just at a crossroad where I feel I'd rather drive a couple hours to shred some DH or free ride then drive a couple hours and dodge squids in the c-class riders. I may not be fast on a motocross track, but I don't land on people or run into them.

You all have won me over, from my experiances so far with the sport I've realized that for the most part, bikers are friendlier, more intelligent, and slightly more aproachable and mature than the moto scene. Thanks for drawing me in, I think I'll be staying

Anyone else a convert like me ?

I tried moto for a while and left for the same reasons you mentioned. I thought about getting into it for a little bit but again, I thought of what you mentioned.

Plus on a bike you just feel so "connected" to the ground. On a moto I just feel like I'm holding on.

In the cleavage of the Tetons
I tried the moto scene, I was turned off by the willful, testosterone-fueled ignorance of the crowd beyond my immediate group...It was fun, but the consequences of the learning curve were stacked against me, basically. I like the purity of the bicycle.

when i was younger I road MX all the time.. Coming from brooklyn though it was always a huge effort to go riding.. so eventually it died down. I still ride at times , mostly my friends quads since i dont have a motobike anymore and I do miss it , but my bike has come to happily replace it. Id never give up mountain biking

I originally raced harescrambles before picking up an MTB. I love XC on a dirtbike but in all honesty its just too expensive. I cant keep a bike running for anything with the money I dont make, so MTB it is...
Ideally, Id like to have both. I do still have a dirtbike but its about to get parted out on ebay or sold because I simply dont have the time or money to dedicate to keeping it servicable.
Its a little more "fun" on a dirtbike, but a little less er, spiritual? I dunno. I feel like Im "exploring" on an MTB, and "thrashing" on a dirtbike. Totally different feel.

I want a KTM 4stroke, but $$$$
