Just purchased one from a shop in Minnesota, via ebay, for $899.
Excited to not have a fork that feels like it is trying to eject itself from the front of my bike.
Applicable tax will get added on during check out.

QfMFT!Apparently in the 2 years it's been since I last rode Downieville, I've gotten faster or make poorer line choices. Cracked a WAO Union rim (front wheel) on a rock on 3rd Divide. I never even saw the rock, just heard a clack then ffftt-fffft-fffft of the flat. I guess my usual 21/24 psi pressures for local "haha what's a rock" trails weren't sufficient because I heard about 4 clacks in the rear too.
Second day I put a brand new DD Assegai up front and jacked pressures up to 24/27 and still got one good front rim strike in. Still, the rim rode fine after the flat and for the whole second run, and WAO are going to send me a new rim. The funny thing is I already ran the highest pressures of all the guys in my group of friends, and now I've got to go up even higher.

Were your metacarpals pinned? How long before you were back on the bike?

They weren't unfortunately and they healed slightly arched. The specialist I saw in the end couldn't believe they used a cast to set them without pinning them. Now my third knuckle is missing (about 5-8mm receded into hand) and that hand doesn't sit flat.
Then in 2019 I clipped a pole while riding and totalled my pink on the same hand! You can still see the damage to the metacarpals in the first X-ray.
Then when the reset the break of the pinky they broke my 4th metacarpal (the pinky was way harder to re-break than you'd imagine). So in summary - my dreams of being a pickpocket or world class piano player are probably not gonna happen anymore

Yeah 4 weeks without any off-roading, but a bit tentative for a few weeks after that. Weirdly despite the number of bones I've broken over the years, soft tissue injuries have kept me off the bike longer. A combination appendectomy/hernia repair left me off the bike for a couple months and a torn muscle in my back following a mid-air reverse tree hug stopped me from doing anything for 6-8 weeks as well.
Meanwhile, old Gee Atherton is talking about riding already just three or four weeks after breaking like 11 bones... mad Vulcan.
In all honesty, it would be a lot easier to run DH casing or inserts than actually pick better lines.
Yeah, most of my longer recoveries have been soft tissue as well - lisfranc, torn calf, for some reason my first (of many - rest were shorter recoveries) torn rotator cuffs, herniated disc etc. I did have a broken arm that took two surgeries to fix; that took awhile to come back from. I also had a broken neck that apparently didn't cause me any issues when it originally happened...fucking weird.
Had this happen too...we know 3 times I've broken my back but we found 5 different sections of my back that had been broken or fractured...
3 I remember all too well, last one I'll never forget...the rest man I couldn't tell you....no idea...
My skull is the same way lol...has a few extra densities on x-ray....lol some I remember others I forgot lol
Anyone rip a labrum? Apparently mine is torn pretty bad but I won't be getting surgery anytime soon...they want to but competition and racing is coming up...xfit, strength and the dh open...

Had 2 full reconstructions of my nose and cheeks from fighting and sports...got a 3rd coming up so they can put a peice of ear cartilage on my nose to widen it so I can breath under heavy load
Lifted weights and xfit that same night so I don't like following sit down rules...

The labrum ripped at the gym. Was fully loaded in cables and the cable broke free from the handle as in separated completely...ripped other arm back.
Calf rip and broken wrist aveluded bone was strength competitions in lanes competing...Still finished still podiumed...
Xfit has been the only one I haven't destroyed myself . Lol
I see more destruction with my buddies who body build, buddy just ripped his bicep..another his delt and couple buddies pecs...but all are IBF pro or getting their pro card...fricking mutants...

Lol did they give you the Z cut between nostrils to pull it back or did you get the straight snip....I got the Z and they peeled it back to my eyebrows pulled my septum out and put it on table ...said it looked like stained glass...rebroke it all and reinserted it....guess 9 shattered nose hits will do that lol...

2nd one was several hours due to the first one showing way more damage...had turbinates and some other work done on 1st, 2nd was all out reconstruction...
Wife told me if I did surgery I don't get back into fighting, it's done....I am trying to get her to let me after xfit ..I'm not ready to roll over and die yet...

Yep...they cut the lower snip of nose peel it back to your forehead and pull the sceptum out if they can just rebreak and pop it...was on table 6 hours to reconstruct and figure out how to fix it .. woke up a few times during surgery ...tried to get up eyes taped shut...I'd ask if we were done...lol they would ask if I'd lay back down and I would..What the fack
Anesthesiologist had to tell my wife they gave me enough shit to put a horse on its ass and I kept waking up...hadn't seen someone so tough ever ..lol

I had pins in the 4th metacarpal for 2 weeks. Taking them out was interesting, not painful but not something I'll be rushing to repeat.
