Obama thinks he is a good talker, but he is often undisciplined when he speaks. He needs to understand that as President, his words will be scrutinized and will have impact whether he intends it or not. In this regard, President Bush is an excellent model; Obama should take a lesson from his example. Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly. He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed. If Obama doesn't raise his standards, he will exceed Bush's total before he is inaugurated.

The comments are even better.

C’mon....give the guy a break, he’s never had to be held accountable for his actions or his words. It might take three or four years before he gets his s**t together....maybe even two terms. If you have a problem contact the MSM, they’ll set you straight.
Not generous--just typical Republican/conservative idiocy to give our enemies a break when they least deserve it. Just like using the term “dissemble” when the perfectly appropriate term “lie “ is available.

And the same stupidity will ignore the opportunity to appoint special prosecutors to investigate Rezko, Acorn, and Obama’s campaign finance lawbreaking. Instead, idiot Republicans will retreat from confrontation and attempt to appease the leftist fascists by letting Dem’s sweep all of their lawbreaking under the rug.

fools.
Sweety:

This is the sort of thing that I was thinking about when I said that watching Obumbler would be entertaining if it were not so dangerous for everyone else.

I think I speak for many when saying that I think that Obumbler is used to dealing with admirers who are in the middle of peeing their pants or else his gullible, clueless base. Neither sees his slipping and sliding because they aren’t smart enough or because they do not want to see or because of both.

Our allies and our adversaries will carefully listen to what Obumbler says and will act upon it. If Putin doesn’t believe that we will support Poland, but Poland does, there could be a very bloody result that could escalate out of control. Does 1914 come to mind?

Bush is certainly better than he used to be but Obama is just as certainly a far better speaker. Way too uptight but a good speaker.

i find myself puzzled to read this post at powerline (i'm a quasi-frequent reader until they start covering minnesota politics or college basketball to the exclusion of all else). i could see them being persuaded by bush's decisions, but not so much in the way he's expressed them
I guess lies don't count as blunders.
do you know who robert malley is?
and his previous involvement w/ the obama campaign?
and why it ended?
and the terms of severance?
and his status now?

it might be another CT item, and it may be a window into things to come

Why is someone (A Jew for that matter!) who stands against Israel and doesnt advocate killing every Arab in sight considered a terrorist?
Will someone please explain to me why the US government sucks Israels ass?

Basically, we decided that supporting Israel some of the time and supporting the Arabs other times was too complicated, so putting more money into Israel than all of Africa combined was the obvious solution. Also, evangelicals think that there needs to be a Jewish state in Jerusalem for Jesus to open a star portal.
