I am the only one who has noticed a sharp decline in the general intelligence in the DH forum lately?

There used to be thoughtful and intelligent questions asked and responses given, and every once in a while there would be a stupid post and said post would be corrected. Now it seems that every post is filled with misinformation and much as I like to correct people, I'm too lazy to do it.

I guess if there was a point to this post other than stating the obvious, it would be that you shouldn't open your mouth if you have no idea what you're talking about. After you figure out who on the board are in the know, you can learn a lot by just listening.

which bike should I buy... bullits suck for freeriding ... air shocks are linear.... XT bb's are the best ever ... why did this break after dropping to flat 1M times.... SHUT IT! Rant over.

Don't worry.
School starts back in a couple of weeks.
And all the members of the "New Pube" club will be back doing Math, English, and cheerleaders. :blah:
Just remember they are the future of our sport.

Its because those who really know their Sh!t are actually out riding, rather than arguing what color freeride bike makes your "insert product here" fail........ My excuse for still being here is working behind the radar cannon that is my monitor. I generally keep out of the tech info also because as much as i think i know.... im sure i can also be wrong........ and when i ask for tech help it usually goes unaswered because im not in the cool clique....... what ever that is......

At least its not as bad as MTBR here. Ive just started lurking there and man there some bitches there.

Yeah, college age kids are so much more intelligent. I actually like the fact that there are some youngsters around lately, what cheezes me off is everybody stating opinion as fact even if they really don't know what they're talking about. CS at romic sucks, Atomic stuff sucks, Marzocchi is being knocked from their throne by Manitou... In most instances it's stuff that's already been hashed out a dozen times, why not start another pot smoking debate, that'll be more entertaining and educational.

They should legalize marajuana.

Sorry, I'm stuck at my desk too. That's my excuse.
Notice I have never made a post while I wasn't at work. If I ever get caught and fired, you will never see me here again.

A sharp decline in intellectual conversation seems to have conicided exactly with the moment I Joined this forum...

Hmmmm. Maybe not-so-coincidental?

To answer some of teh other questions posted;

-Bullits should all be red front triangle with a black rear-swingarm to match the old Shimano DX M636 pedals

-Air shock ARE linear, if the seals leak and the air blows out as they compress.

-Xt BB's are great 'cause you can buy them for like $24 and then when the bearings go bad you can use 'em for spare parts later on. Like, I happen to know for a fact that if you ruin the non-drive side cup of a TRuvativ Giga-pipe BB for a V10 that an XT cup will fit in there pretty good, covering at least 1 of the bearings even!

Now that's pure genius. We just need to decide what to ask. I can think of a couple of basics....

1. What color bullit is fastest down a hill?

2. Who makes the best brakes?

3. <Insert prototype bike part image here:>....is this part flexy?

Anything I've missed?

What! I thought you still had to do this? If it isnt being done it should be, its not like we owe every assshole that wants to blurt out **** on our board a spot to do so, I think this board should be selective and keep the content worth reading! How bout it RM? :sneaky:

therefor, #'s (as stupid as they are) = RM stays online

grrrrrrrri know its the truth just dont want to see the RM go the way of MTBR with fees to post in the buy and sell, and constant pointless posts and threads :mumble: we gotta do something, it has been around for a long time, with the numbers of users from the past...

we need to impliment the "search" rule.

should weed out the unneccasry posts.

on a second note, anytime we post, we need to use realy big elaborate words so that the new kids are WTF(?), this place is for smart people(remeber, its not cool to be smart when your a teen), and coincidincly....they will leave.

so, who knows some big words?

How about:

Ubiquitious
Cantankerous
Diminutive

Example:

Many new monkeys feel the ubiquitous and cantankerous mind-set of older members of the forum often shows the diminutive intellect they posses.

I also agree. Within reason. I have put a stop to some stupid newbie **** in the last couple months - but mostly in the lounge. If you have specific requests for this forum - let's here em.

I had an idea about this. About 2/3 of the site traffic comes fom non-registered users. I'm thinking about implementing a few obnoxious ads - like interstitials or pop-unders, for non registered users. Let them foot the bill. If that makes enough $$ - I was gonna kick back more $$ to the pot for bigger product giveaways.

Just a thought.
