I asked my local MTB club to be on the lookout for a decent used road bike for me. Someone said they had an older trek they were looking to get ride of... blah blah blah... it's a 7speed but it does have STI shifters.

I did a quick google search and found lots of for sale adds for STI, but no explanation of what it is. I get the impression that it's the road bike version of shimano's dual control levers on mountain bikes.
