I'm glad I moved to Tahoe with my girl, it would suck being a single dude here. The ratio(especially in the winter is like 10 to 1). The new puppy does help though. He was surrounded by literally 5 young ladies at one point at the shop today.

I recall reading in a mag not too long ago that San Fran is the worst city to live in if you're a single guy.

Trust me...the pool of guys in San Jose is pretty pathetic...computer geek city...buck teeth...fat guts...pastey...lucky if they shower once in a blue moon...either that or they are total homeboys with fade haircuts or they wear two t shirts...one on their body, and the other one over their head with one arm through with the rest of it up around their neck...no sh!t, I've seen it and sometimes they even leave the tags on em!

My experience:

LA has been pretty decent to me. I've recently dated two great girls from LA (one went to school and the other is still in) and know a bunch of people there through my sister. But seriously, when it comes down to it, you've gotta be in the right situation to meet the kind of person you're looking for. If you judge LA based only on how the girls look, you can easily say that Santa Barbara, SLO and San Diego are the sh1tt1est places to meet girls. Right... then I guess I've been mistaken these past 5 years...
