I was just thinking about getting a better chain than PC-951, but with the exception of the hollow pin, I can't tell the difference between the 4 other chains.

Check out ebay you can usually find the 991 cross step or the hollow pin for around 30$ The difference is it the 991 is stronger then the rest and both the inner and outer plates are chrome which makes it look alot nicer. I also find the higher quality chains to be easier to keep clean. I can go a whole season of muddy DH racing on a 991 hollow pin and I can only go maybe two months on a 971.
