im in a glass case of emotion
hey, i have to get a new rear derailler for my shockwave 9.5, and the part it attaches to is different from what im used to. instead of a little derailler hanger, its all one big metal piece at the back of the swingarm. does this mean i can attach a shimano saint type derailler or what? any help is appreciated, i mostly ride downhill in va, so i want to buy something durable and cheap, but i know this isnt a likely combo. what kind should i get?

I didn't understand what you sad about the hanger. They should be the same thing. Look again.

I used Shimano and in the begging of the year I changed to SRAM. SRAM performed much better (XTR * X.0). The X.9 and X.7 are both very good derrailleurs, but with SRAM derrailleurs you have to use SRAM shifters.

Saint deraileurs attach via the hub axle. So you need a saint hub. Saint hubs only come in 10mm x 135 so they only fit on some bikes. I'm not sure what the shockwave has.

Performance wise, I'd get a whole new setup from sram.
105 medium cage are great for the money if you destroy them a lot.

the shockwave has a replaceable rear drop out rather than just the hanger part. I have a friend with one that has the 12mm thru axle, but i do believe MC makes kits for standard 10mm hubs. Its also a 135mm spaced rear.

Do you know if you have the 12mm or 10mm standard??

This is the stock 12mm
