I’m going to build new set of wheels for my Sunday.
It’s going to be building on pro 2 hubs.
Front QR20
Rear 150x12

Can someone please help me and tell me what size of spokes I need?
And what are the lightest yet strong spokes?

Thanks

Good stuff, thanks for the link. Just a quick plug... this past Sept I went to UBI and took some classes and it was well worth it. Good people and even after being in the industry for 10 years I still learned a few things including all the spoke/hub calc.

I'm not building it by myself :twitch:
And I can probably ask the builder to find out for me.
But I want to find out, and maybe buy them online for less money.
And if you know about good and light spokes, please tell.

funny.... :disgust:

well I found out that I'll need 258\259 length spokes.
I hope I did the calculation as it should be...

If you're not going to buy your hub/rims from the wheelbuilder, then at least have a decency to buy the spokes so the poor fella can eat this week.

I'm going to build them at a friend who DH with me.
He used to work in LBS for years and he is one of the best wheel builders around here.
The only thing he asked for was... some bottles of beer

Why not ask him for help with the calculation?
Sometimes the sites list different rim diameters - compare and
or go to LBS for spokes once you buy the hubs and rims.
Then you know it will be right. Nothing worse than building a wheel
then finding out duhf, I needed 2mm shorter spokes.
The Pro 2 hubs rock and I run them. I have built alot of wheels,
and for the mavic rims I run there were like 3 different lengths listed
on sites. I called Mavic and they gave me one of those three.
Then I went to the shop with the hubs and rims and it was at one end
of the spectrum from what Mavic told me so do your homework!
Those are too nice a wheelset to have them bozoed - wait a little longer
save up the money and have them done right!

P.S. some use 14/15 spokes that are slightly lighter I only build 14 straight guaged spoked wheels. Strength!!!!! over weight Bro!!
