Heading up tot walk the course with Sam and Brendan now. I'm going to try posting live images from my phone to the front page of transcend (top right). Let's see if this works...

LitterOTB for MSA is up

so probably wet, but new/buffed out sections...will they be faster or slower? flat pedals an advantage or disadvantage? F. can't wait to watch 'em send it!

The new sections will be slower than the old sections, guaranteed. Lots more ground to cover, lots of back and forthy type berms instead of high speed. Lots of roots and mud instead of straight aways at the bottom.

Are these new sections at the top or the bottom? Did they get the big digger in there for huge berms or are they more like manmade size?

yeah... we raced the new bottom woods a few weeks ago and it was super tricky to feel "fast" through them. real easy to loose the flow over all the big rollers and whoops, especially when you arms start to tire and become useless at the bottom of that track.

the new top section looks mint and definitely adds to the track. the old top section ws fast and basic and riders all went the same speed. this new section will provide the opportunity to make time, or loose time if you over do it and get fatigued by the bottom.

st. anne is without a doubt the hardest track to race top to bottom

This jump is RIDICULOUS. About 2 Brendan's high, but only one Brendan long? Can you say short? It actually has a lip on it. A few guys jokingly commented about it being the most perfect backflip jump for a DH bike they have ever seen.

Looks like a good metal/wood piece at the bottom of the jump as well to slide around on before hitting the lip.

it is stupid, rode it 2 weeks ago at the quebec cup, and it is very very dumb. everything else on the course is awesome though. you should all take the 30+ pages of arguing over the sol vista jumps and direct it towards this. it is the perfect overshoot over the bars jump, i am worried that someone will really get hurt...

Looks exciting. Probably won't be able to watch it live (I will be in Maine, staying in a cabin on a lake, where there's not even cell coverage).

Should be a good one! Course vids and pics are sweet as usual.

So what's up with the finals? is the 13:15 Women?

13:15 Downhill World Cup - Men Finales
14:00 Downhill World Cup - Men Finals

From Velirium

That makes it noon on Sat for us in Mtn time zone. I'll be riding. Hope the replay gets up quick!

I was looking at the day one update on www.littermag.com

How come Palmer is riding an M6 instead of the new 951?
The M6 should handle the course a little better than the 951. He will more than likely be riding both for the next day or so but will probably race on the M6.

Just like the Yeti boys racing the 303 instead of the 303R for a course like that.

the "man made rock garden" is a pretty interesting section.
how loose are the bricks?

that section is right after a decent sized drop and for the past 3 years that i had raced the WC there, that section would get blown up with a huge hole in the landing and rutted out berm.

it is sort of through a narural spring so it never really dries. about time they piled some bricks in there to keep it from getting blown.

After watching that course vid I've got to agree with whoever said that jump was silly. Looks like it belongs in a slopestyle event rather than a race. Gonna be hard to hit that one at race pace safely

it kind of reminds me of the stupid jump that was at the end of the sprint avalanche race in oz en oisans, totally out of place on a downhill race track.

so are you landing before the bricks or on them?
look at the next photo in the littermag feature... that shows it quite well

as for the jump... it is a bit awkward but not unsafe. expect to see some sweet whips/scrubs over it. it was raced two weeks ago by pros/amateurs alike and no one died.
