Monkeys,
I've done a search on RM and did not come up with a thread that specifically targets the non-UST tires that will be compatible with a tubeless setup (i.e., Stan's, UST rims, homemade tubeless).
In my experience, I know that the Panaracer Fire XC Pro tires are NOT compatible by finding out the HARD way. What I got was a tire that leaves a trail of Stans goo and it leaks all over the place. XC Pro tires = lawn sprinker system for Stan's slime
Also, I am wondering if the Michelin Comp 24.1 x 2.2 Light tires would work... if you monkeys have tried other tires, post your experience(s).
EDIT: Here is an example of what I know and learned...
Here is a recap of my experience
- Maxxis Highrollers (2 ply, 60a) WORKS
- Panaracer Fire XC Pro (single ply) DOES NOT WORK!
These are the only non UST tires that I've only worked with that have/have not worked while using a tubeless setup.
