What really happened to Jessica Lynch?

Like all things I am sure the truth is somewhere in between both stories. I am sure on the US side, the whole thing was spun to be far more dramatic than it really was, but I can't imagine any self respecting soldier going into a dangerous area with blanks in their weapon either.

I guess if it was not a dangerous area and you wanted to rush around firing your weapons, blanks would be safer n'est pas?

It was really the mistreatment of JL aspect that I was looking into though, as that has been referred to here recently.

i find it curious that the article tells of americans firing upon an ambulance, yet not killing anyone. Either is rather dubious.

here's something else which may piece together the ugly truth:
After months of secrecy and media diversion, a book authorized by the former POW reveals the blunt truth. American medical records indicate that she was "a victim of anal sexual assault. The records do not tell whether her captors assaulted her almost lifeless, broken body after she was lifted from the wreckage, or if they assaulted her and then broke her bones into splinters until she was almost dead."

Americans found in this building a metal bed, a car battery, electrodes used for purposes of torture, and the bloody uniform of a female soldier. Intelligence sources later said that the uniform had belonged to Jessica Lynch.

American doctors at Landstuhl Army Hospital had to know, shortly after Lynch's arrival in Germany, that she had been the victim of a savage rape.

NRO
other sources cite her lack of ability to control her bowels.

But, hey, at least they didn't take pictures of her. That would have been "mistreatment"

Actually that is a well documented fact... CNN and Fox agree on it (amaizingly enough). They BARELY missed the driver.

But if you're a solder at a checkpoint and a large vehicle that could contain explosives comes at you at a high rate of speed, what else are you going to do!

so what's the point of this thread - that the US is evil & manipulative?

do you have the same contempt for the former information minister or the fedayeen saddam who ripped JL's colon?
I have contempt for anyone who commits atrocities, as should you. The point of the thread is a desire to know the truth. Is that so bad?

Why are you so defensive? Where have I attacked the US?

an informed decision can only be beneficial, as i'm sure we already agree to. Whereas i have seen evidence of atrocities of our troops, I have not seen evidence of us reciprocating in kind.

not that i would object...

you may see yourself as demonstrating objectivity and an unbiased desire to seek truth, but i infer these attempts as captious. Just my inference.
