You cant beat the ss for a tight snappy bike. Especially if you score a chainlove one. Stock length 8.5x2.5 shock. I do recommend upgrading the dhx if your going to ride it downhill, the fox really holds the frame back from its full potential. I can snap some pics tonight for you, with bb height and head angle.
I was riding a bottlerocket for a year or so, but wanted a slacker head angle and rear suspension that was better suited for chunk. The ss does all of that, without loosing the quick steering and jumpability of the bottlerocket. in fact my bottlerocket will be for sale soon.

Yeah the SS is a way better bike for "Mini DH" than a Demo.
Forgot about that.
It is super nice.
If you're not doing big jumps/drops the SS should be fine.
