The only truck I have owned was a 77 FJ40. I don't miss the 12mpg though.

I'd like a Tacoma TRD sometime soon.

And for not being 'American', well, for some reason its about jsut as american as any of the big three. Practicly owned by Americans, designed in America, parts made in North America, assembled in North America.

the times are certainly changing.

My Disco isn't a pickup truck, but it is definitly a truck, it makes hippies cry.
Is that because it leaks oil all over the place? ;)

Actually, I'm a Toyota guy, but given the question, Chevy/GM outclasses Ford, IMO.

Dodge and Ford are the bottom of the barrel, then GM, then Nissan and Toyota. IMO - Honda doesn't make a real truck.

yes, thats a 12" lift on 40's... they look small because it has 20" wheels.... oh, and that f-650 is a ford! chevy makes those big 6500's that are comparable to the f-650 but they break down all of the time.

I'm partial to Fords. Mainly because around here, they don't seem to rust as badly as GM's or Dodges. And I like the styling better. I've never cared for GM truck styling.

As far as "quailty" goes, the "Big 3" are all about equal. Anyone who says different is blowing smoke. It's really nothing more than personal preference.

Granted, I also like no truck made since 1979 for Ford or 1993 for Dodge. Solid front axle. Leaf springs. Manual front hubs. New Process 205 transfer case. Dana 60 rears, minimum. Dash boards made of metal.

2WD trucks may as well not exist to me, unless solely being used for 5th wheel towing. Plus, it HAS to be a manual transimission. A 4x4 with an automatic is a contradiction of terms...

I am a total Toyota man myself...

No Ford, Chevy or Dodge can out last a Toyota.
Unless they rust away... tough to find a Toyota around here older than 1990. My '86 Toyota was swiss-cheese by the time I sold it in 1999. And the engine was in dire need of a rebuild at 135K. And the thing ate clutch M/C's for lunch...

But that is true of any truck... see more older domestics, but they made/sold more...
