My first bike was a KENT, it even came with a neon green padset. I remember asking my dad "what are these" he told me they're pads "for what" for when you race. After he said race, all I could think about was being CRU Jones and riding Hell Track. I could have beat him on my 16" KENT

PK Ripper with Landing Gear Forks, Redline Flight cranks, KKT Lightning peddals, CW bars... That was one sweet ride. They say you will allways remember your first.

I still have a Race Inc. aluminum frame and a 1977 Cycle Pro Aluminum Foiler(made by Race Inc.) and a 1979 Mongoose.

My first BMX bike was homemade since there bmx really didn't exist as it is today. Got my first mongoose in 75 then the Cycle Pro in 77 and raced it for 3 years. (still have it).

Yeah! I did that all the time for the other kids in my neighborhood. I was like 12 back then, and already ripping my bike apart and putting it back together... I still have (and occasionally use) the tools I got back then in my tool box.

But, also not so funny. I had a total of six different bikes stolen from me when I was a kid, and 4 of them were stolen from my garage. I got into skateboarding after that, and there began the broken bones saga.
I Had a Raleigh Chrome "Silver" Burner for some two years, and my dad gave it to me in birthday present- after some half year of begging:rolleyes: , in 1984... untill some punk stole it from me... i remember crying my heart out for weeks, intill i found the bastard SOB [approx. half a year later] and beat the brown stuff out of him with half a brick!....

I'm usually a very calm, non violent type of guy- but this wanker was way bigger and older than me- so i opted for a "weapon", and took the first brick i could find on this buildingsite where i spotted him riding around, and went for it....:angryfire ... after that little incident- i had it for some 4 years, untill i gave it to a friends little kid [in 1992 i think?], who actually still has it this very day;) [he's now 16- and a killer mtb'er!]

Does ANYONE remember that gimick bike in the late 70's early eighties that had the shocks on it, and it was mad to look like Evil Knenvil (sp?) bike?

I remember them being real mushy.. anyone remember those?

They had the 2 posts that atached to the rear rim bolts, and they were springs, and the front was made to look like a motorcycle shock. The front shocks actually worked, but theis was stricktly a K-Mart Special!!

First bmx was a triumph from K-mart in 77-78, my first real bike was a Norco Spitfire Turbo in 83, my most favorite bike was my Hutch Pro Star in 86. Don't know if you guys remember the hutch pro star and my favorite dirtjumper was my hutch judge, I got my prostar complete and honestly slept with it or on it for the first 2 weeks I owned it. It had hutch everything accept chrome araya rims, spokes and tubes. Frame/Fork, hubs, tires, pedals, crank, stem, bars, grips, seat, seatpost clamp.... everything was hutch.....

I would pay some serious cash for someone to produce this bike for me....

First BMX bike was a Columbia. Supposed to have been made in the next town over from me (Westfield, MA). All mild steel, weighed about 40 lbs, and weak as sh!t.

My first real bike was a Hutch Pro Racer that I built from the replaced parts (alloy wheels, ACS stem, etc) on the Columbia.

My house had 8 acres of woods in the back yard and we built some pretty cool trails along with a race track complete w/ a 2 man gate. I also had a 1/4 pipe then a half pipe for a while.

Those were the days. Go to school, come home and dig and ride. If only I had access to those woods again...

I used to race at Westfield, aka Whip City, all the time back in the day (1982-1988). It was a good track at the time. They even had a National there a couple of years.

I remember at one Nat'l jumping with Mike "Hollywood" Miranda and a bunch of other dudes out of this pit behind the stables/barns. He was pretty rad. I ending up flat spotting the rim on my cruiser on that jump...

I've been dying to go back and check out the track but don't get up to Mass that often.

its not that bad, i didnt go this year, i worked all summer, but when i went before it was pretty fun. although there is always the issue of little kids racing( 5 years and some 4 year olds) so everything has to be not that big, and aall rollable(not that i have a problem w/ kids racing, i say go for it, learn young) but check it out if you get up here, i think the races are still friday nights all summer, and part of the spring and fall.

My dad found a blue webco in the trash in about 1981. That was my first bmx bike. After that I got a GT, and just about every other bike under the sun. I checked out that bmxmuseum.com, that some guy posted earlier. Check out this SE racing add with Lopes and Toby Henderson! Too funny.:D

My first bike was a DiamondBack. I an not sure what the name was, but it had mags, pegs and a gyro. I don't have a pic of it, but I have a pic of my current bike.
