I'd say 2000 or 2001, it is definately not an 03.

Although SC doesn't follow model years, they didn't offer the Heckler for 2001. The Heckler was revived in '02 (I placed my order for one 7/02 and rec'd 11/02). Since this one has a rear disc tab and assuming that it's the factory swingarm it was probably built either late '99 or sometime in '00.

SC didn't make any changes to the Heckler during that period... I have a 1999 myself and the only thing that seems to wear are the shock eyelete/interfaces, the bearings last forever.
I think Santa Cruz have the year of manufacture in the serial number.
