I'm thinking I'm going to just try SS on my STP. I thought about upgrading my shifter and decided aginst it. So what's a good chain tensioner for verticle dropouts on a Urban/DJ bike?

I just want it to work without many problems.

You might want to go down a tooth or two in the back, 2:1 is a tad easy for DJ.

As far as tensionners go, so long as it's not spring loaded it works good. Rennen makes one(I can't spell the name of it for the life of me) and there's the DMR STS that works the same way.

Yeah you might want to drop down in the rear for 2 reasons. #1 being the reason listed above, 2:1 is a tad too small, I'm running 34/16. #2 when you have a large ring in the rear some of the tensioners don't want to work with the larger cog. It runs into it, or it's just too close.

This set up will be mostly used on urban. DJ's would be at the local BMX track. Is 2:1 ok for urban or just for xc trail stuff? New to SS stuff by the way. I've run gears for years!
Also just orderd the DMR STS today. It's cheap, and supposed to work great, so I'll try it and see if I like it.
