What are the prospects for this sorry POS passing? :disgust1: Sorry if this is a topic that's been covered before, but saw a C-Span call in show about the issue. The creep from the 'Life' coalition or whatever was suggesting that 'allowing' women to have abortions in the instances of rape or incest was somehow unfair to them. He actually dodged the rape issue and focused solely on incest or incestuous rape, even when asked specifically, claiming that abusers would bring women in to planned parenthood for abortions so they could rape them again. This tactic allowed him to accuse Planned Parenthood (they had a rep sitting next to him) of not reporting these issues and essentially being complicit in the crime....

I tend to agree with you on that, but on the other hand, friends in CA are telling me that Prop 8 looks poised to pass?

I don't see it passing. There is something similar on the ballot every election, and they always get shot down.

i think my wife & i diverge on this. as we were reading over the text in the mailer, it seems to me a gp could be held criminally liable if they prescribe meds that unintentionally induce a miscarriage. an argument could be made to be as compelling as a victim of a car accident in that case as well. where i strongly believe life begins @ conception, i'm not sure my (shared) belief needs to be represented in this particular form of sloppy legislation.

just another consequence of legislating morality?
